Empire of blue water by Stephan Talty was a look at the life and times of Captain Morgan, the real pirates of the Caribbean, privateering, and empires clashing. Daring feats, and despicable behavior drew me in and kept me riveted. Stephan Talty mixes first hand accounts and the life of a prototypical buccaneer to tell his narrative. It started a bit slow, but kept building and building through to the end. Best book i’ve read this year hands down. I listened to it on audio, the narration was good. If you are ready for pirate fun and adventure, cast off with captain morgan and his crew.
